Summary: Wine can't find pixel formats with the livna nvidia driver Product: Wine Version: 1.0.0 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: ajrich@earthlink.net
Created an attachment (id=15767) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=15767) Console output when attempting to run WoW
I've got two programs that crash on startup with similar, but different, error messages.
Diablo II gives the following in a pop-up box: No useful pixelformat found! Please check your graphiccard-driver
No useful console output.
World of Warcraft gives a generic looking memory access violation, but produces some interesting console output which is attached. Note the line that complains of no iPixelFormat.
I want to test with latest development version, but the FC9 repos don't have it and I can't compile them due to a separate problem.

In case the problem really is with my driver, which is the latest nvidia driver from livna.

I considered using major, since as far as I can tell this issue prevents use of any program that uses d3d, which is a wide range of applications. But since I've only got two programs installed I can't be sure.

--- Comment #3 from Rico kgbricola@web.de 2008-09-02 14:26:02 --- Install the 32bit-nvidia libs for your distribution (for FC9 it is xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-....lvn9 (i386) package).
This bug is invalid.
