Summary: AutoWikiBrowser doesn't work (uses .NET 2 framework) Product: Wine Version: 0.9.37. Platform: PC URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:AWB OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-dotnet AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: dgerard@gmail.com
AutoWikiBrowser is a custom browser for editing Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:AWB http://sourceforge.net/projects/autowikibrowser/
It's open source, so we can get the code okay, but it's written in C# for .NET, using Microsoft Visual C# Express Edition.
Windows use requires .NET 2 Framework. dotnetfx.exe doesn't install (bug 3972) and in any case trying to run AutoWikiBrowser gives the message:
install the Windows version of Mono to run .NET executables
So I installed Mono for Windows 1.2.4, which seemed to install just fine. I ran it again and got:
Stacktrace:
- with a blank line following and no stacktrace.
WINEDEBUG logs attached.
I posted the problem to wine-users and it was suggested I file it as a bug.
Note that you need to be an authorised user of AutoWikiBrowser to use it at all. So if there's any particular bugchecking you need me to run, just let me know.
Platform is wine 0.9.37 on Ubuntu Feisty (7.04). I'm tracking current Wine packages from wine.budgetdedicated.com.
