When i start steam my whole screen gets filled with copies of the same steam
window. When i press close all windows close but when i open steam again its

Probably a dupe of bug #23841.

Are you using a compositing window manager?
I'm using using Gnome 3 with Mutter as WM and starting the Steam client in
virtual desktop mode works around the problem.

Yes im using gnome3 so is that the only way around atm?
