Summary: Galactic Civilizations II: Crash after menu screen Product: Wine Version: 1.1.27 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: mokurensama@alice.it
Created an attachment (id=23189) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=23189) Crash log
The game starts and runs fine until the menu screen. Contrarily to what is written in the Ubuntu APPDB entry the screen does not go blank when the cursor goes over a button, but it crashes when clicking on one.
OffScreenRendering in regedit was set to fbo, but setting it to backbuffer doesn't seem to change anything

--- Comment #1 from Juan Lang juan_lang@yahoo.com 2009-08-20 21:37:10 --- Could you post a +relay,+seh log up to the crash? If it's too long, compress it, and if it's still too big, trim off stuff after the crash and all but the last 1,000 lines or so before the crash. Clearly there's an invalid string being given to ExtTextOutW, so the question is where it's coming from.

Sorry for my ineptitude, but how do I do that, exactly?

--- Comment #3 from Henri Verbeet hverbeet@gmail.com 2009-08-21 02:43:52 --- The backtrace looks similar to what http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2008-June/055710.html tried to fix. Does that patch help?

--- Comment #4 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2010-09-07 16:48:52 CDT --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.3.2 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #5 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2013-01-19 08:32:19 CST --- I could reproduce the problem with the demo version of GalCiv II, using the reported Wine version (1.1.27), but the problem is no longer present with more recent versions (1.2.3, 1.4.1, 1.5.22 all good).
Marking fixed.
