Another example is the installer of Greyface's Might & Magic 6 patch: https://sites.google.com/site/sergroj/mm/MM6patch.rar?attredirects=0 The patch can be installed even though you don't own the game. You can observe the problem on the 3rd page in the installer when selecting installation directory.
Reverting commit fb44feb fixes the problem.
