Summary: Constant crash while using EDXOR Product: Wine Version: 0.9.50. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-richedit AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: justivo@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=9677) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=9677) back trace
I'm trying to use an application called EDXOR, but it crashes every time I try to move the cursor with left and right keys. Back trace attached.
The program is still able to open files and allows me to use the scrollbar (with the mouse) to go up and down. It seems to be always triggered by the use of the keyboard, though.

--- Comment #2 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2007-12-18 16:20:00 --- Confirming in wine 0.9.51, ubuntu gutsy.
To reproduce, install the program, open any file and click in the main window. Then attempt to use the keyboard :-P.

--- Comment #4 from Ivo Emanuel Gonçalves justivo@gmail.com 2008-01-09 20:09:19 --- Did not test with latest git, but 0.9.52 does not exhibit this bug. It was likely fixed. If nobody closes the ticket in the meanwhile, I'll close it after a successful test with 0.9.53.

--- Comment #6 from Ivo Emanuel Gonçalves justivo@gmail.com 2008-01-15 21:48:54 --- Having now tested with 0.9.53, I can confirm that the bug STILL exists. On 0.9.52 I only tested a plain text file which apparently doesn't trigger the bug anymore. However, a binary file always seem to trigger the crash every time I try to edit or move through the file in any way with the keyboard. The mouse's scroll wheel is also confirmed not to trigger this bug. It is always the keyboard.
Why the distinction between binary and ascii files causes a crash related with the keyboard is beyond me. I attached a more recent backtrace log just in case it may help fix the bug.

--- Comment #8 from Dylan Smith dylan.ah.smith@gmail.com 2008-10-28 17:31:03 --- I tried with the latest edxor (using both the v1.65 installer and v1.xx standalone) and wasn't able to reproduce the error by opening up the edxor.exe executable. I tried moving and editing the file with the keyboard and mouse, and couldn't cause it to crash.
Could you retest to see if the bug has been fixed?
