--- Comment #1 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2007-10-08 05:12:45 --- Please try force-installing the i386 openssl package from your distributor. I don't know anything about the 64 bit ubuntu wine package, but I do know that in the past, force-installing the 32 bit openssl package helped similar problems.

--- Comment #2 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2007-10-08 05:13:26 --- sorry, I meant debian, not ubuntu.

You'll find the package here(btw it's your official package archive): http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/archive/index.html direct link is: http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/archive/debian/etch/wine_0.9.46~winehq0~debi...
I am just asking to correct the package, and compile it with ssl support, so no other debian etch guy with amd64 arch will loose hours checking why in picasa or other application you cannot log in. I solved the problem by installing i386 wine but why? just compile amd64 version with ssl.

What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution| |WONTFIX
--- Comment #6 from Scott Ritchie scott@open-vote.org 2007-10-09 03:07:44 --- Sorry, I can't fix this in Etch or Feisty. It is already fixed in Ubuntu Gutsy, however.
The reason is that there is no 32 bit openssl lib in Debian - it is simply missing from the ia32-libs package. Etch users will simply have to wait until Debian decides to fix it - hopefully they'll add libssl0.9.8 to the list of ia32-libs packages by Lenny.
Unless someone can provide a patch that somehow circumvents the problem of not having a 32 bit ssl lib to build against, this one will remain unfixed in Etch.
