Bug ID: 44644 Summary: Sudo apt-get error on Ubuntu Product: Wine Version: 3.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: sashabrava@yandex.by Distribution: ---
Created attachment 60649 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=60649 Ubuntu terminal error message
The installation guide described on https://wiki.winehq.org/Ubuntu causes an error with libsane1:i386 installation - which is caused by attempt of install script to overwrite shared file '/lib/udev/hwdb.d/20-sane.hwdb'. If the file is renamed/removed, installation catches the same problem with '/lib/udev/rules.d/60-libsane1.rules'. If this file is renamed/removed as well, wine installs successfully. Installation was performed on clean install of OS.
OS: Ubuntu 17.10 64-bit artful Wine: 3.0 stable

--- Comment #1 from Giacomo Orlandi gia_@inwind.it --- I'm pretty sure this is not a Wine bug. It's a bug in the packaging of libsane1 in Ubuntu, which cause a conflict if you install libsane1 for both i386 and amd64 architectures.
See: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1725928
You can also find a workaround there.
It looks like it's already been fixed on libsane1 version 1.0.27-1~experimental3ubuntu2, which is available on Ubuntu 18.04, but not on Artful (17.10): http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/main/s/sane-backends/sane-backe...

--- Comment #2 from Giacomo Orlandi gia_@inwind.it --- Can this be closed as NOTOURBUG?

--- Comment #3 from Giacomo Orlandi gia_@inwind.it --- Now this could be closed as abandoned as it probably affects an EOL version of Ubuntu.

This was never a Wine bug.
Yes, closing it as NOTOURBUG was my original suggestion :)
