No, instead install the demo using: $ WINEPREFIX=~/.winetmp wine setup.exe
that way it doesn't have the old settings/registry entries/etc. from the full version.

wine: cannot find L"C:\windows\system32\setup.exe"
You have to use the actual filename of the installer, which in the case of the trial version is stcdeval.exe.
The trial installs fine here, but crashes when it tries to start the installed app. Starting the app manually works, though the GUI doesn't display properly and crashes when you try to do anything. Installing ie6 works around most of the problems, though browsing for pictures still crashes the app.

I filed bug 28967 for the initial crash. I'm hesitant to file a bug for that second crash, since ie6 is installed, which brings with it a ton of native dlls..

--- Comment #12 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2013-11-13 16:50:49 CST --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 2 years. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.6 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.6 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).
