Summary: Liquid Story Binder - 'z' location broken and window management issues Product: Wine Version: 1.1.30 Platform: PC URL: http://www.blackobelisksoftware.com/Downloads/LSBXEins tall.exe OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: thompson_d_@hotmail.com
The 'z' location of windows does not appear to be handled correctly - Liquid Story Binder has several windows which are designed to overlap without docking, and the main window (that should be in the back) appears in the front. You have to minimize it to be able to see working windows, but the main window has all the tools for switching between working windows and opening new files.
Also, it is possible to lose an entire chapter, etc., because the window becomes inaccessible. I haven't been able to re-create the bug, but I have a file where chapter two works but chapter one doesn't.
Running the program through the terminal reveals a ton of richedit:fixme's and a few errors in richedit, but replacing with native richedit DLLs does not appear to fix the issues above.

--- Comment #1 from thompson_d_@hotmail.com 2009-09-29 09:15:00 --- Although the 'z' location bug seems like a minor priority, the fact that it (or another related issue) can cause lost work elevates it to normal in my mind. It's hard to convince one's wife to use the program when chapters go away at random.

--- Comment #3 from Niko Sandschneider nsandschn@gmx.de 2010-06-14 13:59:35 --- I cannot reproduce this with wine-1.2-rc3. The window order seems to be correct (though I didn't crosscheck with real Windows). At least the main window is in the back. My window manager is KWin (KDE 4.4.4).
