Summary: Puntenboek.exe "serious error" crash on exit Product: Wine Version: 1.1.28 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: belgobass@hotmail.com
Created an attachment (id=25559) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=25559) serious error message on crash
puntenboek works but doesn't allow for saving work on exit. A serious error message then appears (attached screenshot).
This application has a fairly limited audience. It is an on-line mark book and report creator used in (some) schools in Belgium. It is downloadable from here: http://myrosoft.com/FR/PBDownload.php however it requires a password for downloading. I have uploaded it here: [url]http://www.sendspace.com/file/ono5w6%5B/url]
I am using Puppy Linux 4.3.1 as an operating system and running Wine from a pet. It is the latest available pet version (but not the latest Wine version). The pet Wine version is 1.1.28
The application works fine on Windows.

--- Comment #2 from Andrew Nguyen arethusa26@gmail.com 2010-01-05 15:34:03 --- I can't seem to fully test the program with wine-1.1.35-439-g2f529c3 since I'm greeted with a login dialog box on startup, but do see if there's a difference with wine-1.1.35 at least.

--- Comment #3 from Chris Jenkins belgobass@hotmail.com 2010-03-06 01:51:14 --- Hello,
Thank you for the two comments, apologies for the delay.
Austin: I'm sorry I don't know how to attach terminal output, could you tell me how please?
Andrew: I updated Wine to 1.1.37 but the result was still the same. However the delay for my reply was due to contacting the program makers who have now given me test credentials for the Wine team so that you can install their program.
As I am unsure about security using Bugzilla, perhaps you could advise how best to send you these.
Thanks very much for your help,
Chris.

I therefore ran it from outside Xwindows with this result... I don't think this helps, or does it?

No, that can't ever work. You need to start a terminal within X, e.g. using xterm or gnome-terminal. Then run your app from there.

I have managed this time to run the application from a command line from within Xwindows. The application ran but crashed on exit.
During the test, the application did not display all tool buttons nor did the actions work from drop-down menus.
Thanks for your help.

--- Comment #9 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2011-11-16 13:52:55 CST --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 1.5 years. Is this still an issue in current (1.3.32 or newer) wine?
