--- Comment #5 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over 700 days. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.36 or newer) wine?

At least 1 of the logs had this
err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 320x240x16 @0! (desktop)
doesn't look too good. Also you shouldnt change the reported version even the issue stands.

I just tried the demo and I have the same issues as reported before.
err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 320x240x16 @0! (XRandR 1.2)
Does the game really require so low resolution? My xrandr doesnt output anything even close to that.

Has anyone tried to run in virtual desktop? Just to bypass the too small resolution issue.
Well this is interesting. Doesn't work with pure wine, but starts with staging in virtual desktop when resolution is lowered 320x240.
I dont know is it using hardware or software mode since it complained something about drivers.

--- Comment #11 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- Created attachment 54079 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=54079 hack for virtual desktop
The attached hack makes the game start in a virtual desktop to me, then you can get to the game menu and set resolution to 640x480. The game works fine here.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32979
--- Comment #12 from super_man@post.com --- Maybe wine should always open in virtual desktop mode if resolution is a lot lower than native. Old games had 320x200, 640x480 resolutions.
