--- Comment #3 from Julius Schwartzenberg julius@zgod.cjb.net 2009-02-24 06:22:16 --- To play GTA2 in Wine with the Intel driver you need to get the latest Mesa from GIT (the latest release doesn't have the necessary fixes yet) and set the RenderTargetLockMode to readtex.
See this bug for more information http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19818
Wine should somehow automaticly select the readtex backend on systems using the Intel driver.

--- Comment #4 from H. Verbeet hverbeet@gmail.com 2009-02-24 07:36:16 --- I wouldn't be opposed to making readtex the default in general.

--- Comment #5 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-08-26 13:21:32 --- Is this still present in current (1.1.28 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #6 from Julius Schwartzenberg julius@zgod.cjb.net 2009-09-25 15:27:02 --- Now that readtex is the default, most problems are gone. FBOs still cause major slowdowns, which are solved by disabling FBOs in Wine. Users must have recent OpenGL drivers installed.
There is still a problem with unresponsiveness. Roderick Colenbrander suspects it's a locking problem as it only happens with the keyboard, not with a gamepad. I only saw this problem on Intel chips, I haven't been able to test it with NVidia yet.

--- Comment #7 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2010-12-20 22:15:54 CST --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.3.9 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #8 from Xavier Vachon xvachon@gmail.com 2010-12-30 14:03:48 CST --- In current git (1.3.10) and the registerware version of the game, the menu appears properly and can be worked through with the keyboard. I have an NVIDIA card. Is this bug only about the Intel driver?
