Bug #: 31020 Summary: Medieval 2 total war graphical tearing Product: Wine Version: 1.5.7 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: 1007380@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 40714 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=40714 Just some major graphical glitches.
I have installed Medieval 2 Total War, and it installed fine. Upon starting the game, I noticed that the screen was torn [see screenshot] to the point of unplayability. I have tried this on two graphics cards, neither of which did any better (Intel hd3000 and NVS4200M with nouveau). The game runs perfectly fine besides that major graphical glitch.
Running Wine 1.5.7 on Arch Linux, kernel 3.4.4-2-ARCH

I'm experiencing the same issues. I got an Intel HD 4000. From what I've read, others that are experiencing these issues also have Intel graphics cards.

--- Comment #6 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.51 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #7 from super_man@post.com --- The wine version used at report time was 1.5.7, after the bug was opened few other said that they have this issue too. The problem is that none mentioned the wine version they used. There is a huge gap between 1.5.7 and 1.7.55 wine. Also the issue could be gpu drivers. There is no console output included.
This bug needsinfo.

--- Comment #8 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
looks fine here with recent Mesa/Intel and Mesa/Nouveau and Wine 1.7.55
Resolving 'WORKSFORME' (the question is rather if this was due to Mesa insufficiency -> upstream).
Always specify the exact driver/graphics stack version (Mesa) when creating tickets about graphics issues!
NOTE: needs 'd3dx9_36' override due to bug 24614 (unrelated to this issue).
