it seems this one duplicates bug 1503, as crash pops at same file/line of code:

there was even some discussion rised regarding that stuff:

the problem it seems to be non-trivial.

and i still have no time to make tests regarding 16-bit apps and messages its
scrollbar handles :-(. Mirek, are about to investigate on this problem?

OTOH, patch-hiding-the-problem could be done by commenting mentioned line in
scroll.c to help you resolve critical situation. AFAIR, it helped me in my case.
