more dialogs at time

Dialogs that are placed above 3D window sometimes hang on the screen even if
Maya is minimized until maya closing.

Steps to reproduce:
1. run Maya PLE
2. Open these dialogs: View, Shading, Lighting, Show, Renderer, Panels
-> usually it takes some time before dialog disappear
-> dialogs hangs usually when more dialogs are visible or if some of the
sub-dialogs is shown.

In console is:
fixme:menu:TrackPopupMenuEx not fully implemented

What version of Wine are you using? What window manager is that? Enlightenment?
Can you try with a different window manager?

As far as I know this bug is exposed appears in all wine versions since at
least 0.9.43.

Bug is present in these WMs: TWM, MWM, Enlightenment DR 16, KDE 3.5.7. I didn't
tested any other.

I can't find link, it seems that Autodesk took it down and it seems that PLE
version with it. Anyway, I've tested PLE 8.5 with wine 1.1.11 yesterday and
Maya doesn't run at all.

I could upload PLE's installer somewhere but I don't think it's legally

I was going to open a new bug claiming that TrackPopupMenu can return without
destroying the menu window. Then I found this and wonder if it is the same
issue!?

I found the problem in TeamViewer, however the steps to reproduce are a little
bit... bulky... You need two, better three machines running TeamViewer.
So, if nobody begs me, I'll not share them here :)

But I have some thoughts on this, that you may find helpful:

If 'something' happens, while the menu is open, then TrackPopupMenu returns and
leaves the menu window there, without function.
So, if somebody with some insight would look at the implementation of
TrackPopupMenu, it should be possible to find out how this can happen.
I'm aware of the fact that TrackPopupMenu runs its own message loop, which
slightly enhances the portion of code possibly involved...

Regarding that 'something':
My best guess is, that the window that owns the menu is altered in some way
(SetWindowPos), and this closes the message loop of TrackPopupMenu in an
abnormal way, so that the menu window stays open. On Windows, the Menu stays
open and functional. (still talking 'bout TeamViewer, not Maya)

If you think this is a different bug, I'll open one...

Tested with wine 1.3.0.

I wasn't able to replicate the bug that the dialog hangs until exit but they
are still not cleared correctly. The dialogs hangs on screen (but they are not
clickable except the last opened) until I click somewhere in the main view.
This seems like an issue with redrawing the view.

This bug has not been updated for two years. Is this still an issue i current
(1.5.4) or newer wine ? You may also close this as abandoned if you feel that
that this is issue is no longer relevant to you.

I'm closing this bug as abandoned.

Maya PLE 8.5 is not available for download for some time (probably a few years
now) and it recently stopped working because the license has expired. And
because it is no longer available I can't renew the license.
