steps to reproduce

1. download any windows application, for example, faststone image viewer from
here:
http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDownload.htm

2. install using wine

3. try to open installed app from start menu

4. it will result in "file not found" message

Can you open the .desktop file corresponding to the menu entry and check what's
wrong with it?

I had mate/cinnamon before and wine created .lnk files at desktop, now with kde
installed it doesnt seem to show the .lnk files anymore...I just went
/home/user/Desktop

and there is .lnk files created by wine. A bit I havent disabled
winemenubuilder.

This is what FastStone\ Image\ Viewer.desktop   file contains

Not reproducing in Linux Mint 18.1 MATE x64 running Wine 1.8.

Can someone retest it?

this was probably a bug in linux mint's start menu. it is not reproducing now.
i think this issue may be closed.

You can resolve all issues yourself that you have opened. Since you think
nothing got fixed in wine the bug should be marked invalid or worksforme.
