Summary: program doesn't draw text to dialog box properly Product: Wine Version: 1.1.5 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: deadlock@start.no
Created an attachment (id=16248) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=16248) Dialog box being drawn the wrong way
When I try to save or load a game in The Journeyman Project 3 - Legacy of Time, the snapshoot is shown behind the dialog box, along with any text written on the dialog box. The same happens with any other dialog box in the game that shows text. It's like the function the game uses to draw, draws on the wrong layer.

--- Comment #5 from no public pii mmmmna@gmail.com 2011-03-08 19:45:01 CST --- I just installed 'Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time' under Wine 1.2.2 (the version that I downloaded from the repos for Kubuntu 10.04 LTS for 64 bit, installed March 3, 2011).
The associated text and graphics are indeed placed under the dialog box layer. Note that the dialog boxes tend to be unmovable, but an attachment to an earlier post presents my issue accurately and clearly. I'm using W95 mode.
Note: someone earlier mentioned needing to install the Quicktime 'which is provided' - I never found any version of QT on the install CD (disc 1 of 4), so I'm using QT 3.0 from an 'old version' kind of website. I did use the DirectX installer which was provided on the games installer CD (DirectX 3, October '96).
I can update DirectX to v6 if needed.

--- Comment #10 from John Pellman john+winebugzilla@libjpel.so --- Just to give some perspective, I recently did a playthrough of the GOG version of Journeyman Project 3 on Windows 10, and this exact issue was present there as well. As such, I suspect that this bug might have more to do with WINE targeting compatibility with newer implementations of Win32 (as opposed to Windows 95's implementation of Win32, which would have been what Presto Studios worked with).
It's also probable that Presto did something odd/hacky when they first implemented the dialogue window back in the 90s.
