When using the ALSA driver, the audio in Ragnarok Online is "crackly", not of
acceptable quality. It works fine when using OSS, but this makes it so only the
Ragnarok client has access to sound -- i.e., I've gotta quit Opera (due to
Flash object(s)) and Audacious must not be active (i.e., it can't be on Pause
or playing).

openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4. ALSA didn't work properly before or after killing the
pulseaudio process.

Gentoo (mostly stable, updated) with gnome-2.26.  With ALSA as the audio driver
(no pulseaudio), the left speaker plays.. static?  as well as the Ragnarok
Online music.  I don't have other audio drivers built into wine to test.  Wine
1.1.32.

I can't speak for myself since I no longer have Ragnarok installed (removing
