Bug #: 31880 Summary: E-Mail notification: no way to choose between maintained apps and other apps for AppDB-user without elevated rights Product: WineHQ Apps Database Version: unspecified Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: appdb-unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: mywine@schiermeier-software.de Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 41963 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=41963 A normal users preferences who maintains apps
This is a wish for a feature:
For a user who is maintaining some applications in AppDB it isn't possible to choose the way of email notification: 1.) notify about changes in maintained apps. 2.) notify about changes in other apps.
This both options should be in the preferences panel of the users preferences.

What other apps? The only reason a user will receive e-mails is if they are monitoring that app entry, or have submitted data.
Or about changes in maintained apps. Like submitted and waiting test reports (from an other user).
Supose this: I'm a maintainer of two apps and I monitor three other apps where I'm not the maintainer.
Than I need a possibility to choose which actions I want to get aware of by getting an email.
At this moment I can either switch notify messages on or off. But if there are mails about my maintained apps and the notification is of I will not get any mail.
So: the switch needs three instead of two (optins (on/off). Mayby 1.) All Mails on: chnages in my monitored and maintained apps 2.) Only Mails about my maintained apps on: if there is a new report in my mainted apps, I will get a mail, if there is something with my monitored apps it will be calm 3.) All Off: No mails - I'm in vacations or so..
That was my background.

--- Comment #4 from Ken Sharp kennybobs@o2.co.uk 2013-07-13 17:33:20 CDT --- The point of monitoring an app is to receive notifications of the changes made to it. What else could "monitor" possibly mean?
If you don't want e-mails about a specific app, stop monitoring it.

No, think in someone who only want to monitor online. I have several applications in my list there <----- (on the left side in AppDB) where I read regularly the changes by myself. And only in applications I maintain I want to be notified by mail.
This isn't possible now.
