When I try to send a message to my friends via Hearthstone's chat overlay, it
works only for Latin characters. Russian (Cyrillic) are shown as question marks
("?"). Recipients confirm that they receive it as question marks on their side.

On Windows XP text sends correctly (so, it's not game's issue). I don't have
such problem with chat in Steam, when I launch windows version under wine (so,
it shouldn't be an issue with locale).

wine: wine-1.7.17;
Ubuntu 14.04;
Main locale: "LANG=en_US.UTF-8";

First try LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8, presumably you this locale enabled.

@Nikolay: Yes, you were right, it depends on locale. With "LANG=ru_RU.utf8" it
shows characters correctly. Not sure why it works for Steam with English
locale.

It may just be application specific. IIRC this does work in Engligh locale in
e.g. StarCraft 2, which is also by Blizzard. Unless this works in Windows with
an English locale it's probably not a Wine bug.
