Summary: Impossible to accept licence in Assault Heroes demo Product: Wine Version: 0.9.53. Platform: PC URL: http://www.jeuxvideo.fr/demo-assault-heroes-10416-0- 0.html OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: richedit AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr
When trying to install Assault Heroes demo, one needs to accept the licence. Unfortunately, it is impossible to do it. So, one must cancel the install process. It looks like a richedit problem

--- Comment #2 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2008-01-21 14:33:54 --- Confirming. Winetricks riched works around the problem. You can also click in the field and use keyboard to read the license and accept.

--- Comment #3 from William Crawford wccrawford@gmail.com 2008-01-21 14:43:39 --- About Virtual Timeclock Pro:
I didn't know about winetricks riched. I had placed riched DLLs in the directory of the program, but it apparently didn't find them. I just tried winetricks and it makes the richedit errors go away, but my problem still remains: Connect button never gets enabled like it should.
Mine is most likely not the same bug as this, and not what I thought was the problem, either.

Is there a way to test this in the demo? I tried to test, but have no servers to connect to. Is there another dialog, etc showing it? Also, retest in a clean .wine directory (your log shows a bug that should've been fixed a couple months ago).

--- Comment #5 from William Crawford wccrawford@gmail.com 2008-01-22 12:46:58 --- Created an attachment (id=10411) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=10411) console output with new .wine directory
I moved my .wine directory out of the way and ran the wineprefixcreate command. Then installed the app and this was the result. The problem is still there in Windows 2000 and Windows XP compatibility modes, but gone in Windows 98 mode. (There's actually a different bug in 98 mode, but has an easy workaround.)
Also, the Richedit workaround created more bugs as well and I had already removed it this morning.
Thanks.

--- Comment #6 from William Crawford wccrawford@gmail.com 2008-01-22 12:48:36 --- Sorry, forgot to answer the other question.
The only time I see this happening is when trying to connect to a server. Other than setting up a server on a nearby PC (it's the same program, but I haven't tried to do that in Wine, so I don't know how well that'll work in Linux) I don't know how to test it. I believe even the server is free for 300 usages, though.

--- Comment #7 from Forester pbronline-wine@yahoo.co.uk 2008-06-30 14:38:57 --- With bug 13864 "F.E.A.R: Can't accept EULA" fixed in Wine 1.1.0, now might be a good time to retest this one.
