The install of the protel99se_full_trial_version.exe was successful, but the
Client99SE.exe crashes at start.

You not running it right - you have to 'cd' into program's directory first.

Looks like your Wine configuration is busted. Did you happened to run it as
root which broke everything?

This appears to be a part of "CrypKey Software License Manager". If that's the
case it won't work on Wine as-is.

Workaround: uncheck "NT Drivers" during installation - unfortunately this is
the protection mentioned above and Protel needs to be cr^Wpatched to run
without it.

This will fix %SystemRoot% issue too - it gets broken by "NT Drivers" installer
or by some well hidden wine bug about not expanding that %variable%. Remember
to start with clean WINEPREFIX.

It runs just fine with wine 1.0.x. Wine 1.1.x (at least until 1.1.6) has two
regressions regarding font rendering and speed, so better avoid it.

Output from terminal when trying to run Client99SE

Client99SE.exe crashes at start with wine 1.1.20 as well, but I think the
problem may be different.

opens fine under 1.1.27 if odbc32 is set to native
- (I'm using ubuntu jaunty)
- installed full (not trial) version & then service pack 6
"protel99servicepack6.exe"
- wine configured for Win98, WinXP or Win 2000 all work
- opens Windows File System stored projects
- have not been able to open MS Access Database (ddb) stored projects - loading
mdac28 & jet40 made no difference

- only issue so far, is that schematic libraries must all be loaded at one
time. Returning to add one later, results in previous ones being lost.

Invalid then, nothing has been fixed in Wine. Closing.
