------- Additional Comments From tomek.fizyk@op.pl 2007-04-02 06:31 ------- I've installed the 0.9.30 version on my other system (Debian i386) as it didn't want to compile on the AMD64 system (some ./configure issues) so it was a clean install w/o any previous wine nor motorhead configuration available for the game.
I've also tryed the demo (there were two versions: software and 3dfx - I chose the software). The demo also doesn't work - the same problem.
Maby you could play the demo because you had a joystick? Maby in such case the game is able to initialize the DirectInput? But it ought to be possible to run the game w/o joystick because it worked under windows.
BTW. I have an original legal copy of the game and therefore it is not a fault of any crack/modiffication. The game even worked under windows xp if I copied the installation from win98 to winxp and added some keys in the registry (the game's installer refuses to proceed when it detects it is beeing run under NT, so the trick was the only way to play the game undr xp). When running with wine I've been trying with all possible windows versions' compatibility (yes even with win2.0 which does not make any sense)
It is the dinput problem.
