What does your patch do? What does running Wine apps look like after that? A complete solution, or with some restrictions?
My problem is that I encourage kids to run Ubuntu on cheap hardware. They love the idea of a box full of hidden marvels, but, you know kids ... They just can't leave games behind. And games are Windows, and Windows is Wine, and Wine is this bug.
And this bug is 4 years old !!!
Kids are the future and Wine is their portal to Linux.
Should I give up with my "mission"?
