For some reason I found this bug in Diablo III entry in AppDB. Does the game suffer from it, can anyone test this?
Yes, read comments section of D3 AppDB page, there are reports there from people suffering this bug, mostly mobile GPU users.
I don't see any references to mobile users in the appdb page nowadays. In test drive's, there's one test with 1.7.8 with a comment showing a youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1BOpjh2JFA
that shows it running decently (I only spot checked though).
Is this still an issue in current (1.7.25 or newer) wine?
As far I know, as suffered this bug, it should happen only on DirectX 9.0c cards like in GeForce 5000, 6000 and 7000 series, because this game uses all shader constants (that's why graphic got messed), on DirectX 10 cards or upper should not happen, in fact it runs ok.
More interesting is that in the video, bug 28196 still shows, it is water is rendered in front of everything, if you watch it from the beginning and look at the right side you will see lines or some times bigger masses of water, rendered over the road, houses and cars. About 3:37 the car passes over a river and is clearly rendered over the bridge, so still some things didn't changed.
