Hi Dan,

You were right, installing MS DCOM98 fixes all the "Average" function crashes,
as looks like a OLE/COM bug in wine I changed the component to wine-ole.

Also thanks for the DCOM98 trick :)

I spent an hour looking into this, but couldn't discover the problem. The error message occurs when VB 
seems to clear a VARIANT. With native, it is a safearray, but with builtin it errors out instead.
