--- Comment #17 from Stuart Middleton Stuart@houseofanime.org 2007-08-28 13:05:21 --- Possible reason for the final "invalid floating point" error. With the Tahoma font installed, the application starts normally, appearing to load various component windows of the gui in turn. The remaining error message appears with the focus on the "Audio/Video" tab, suggesting that it is something on this rather small tab that is causing the error. I note that this is the only location in the application (that I can find) that uses radio buttons, and that the dot in these buttons is distorted. I can't find any other bugs relating to radio buttons, but could this be the cause of the problem?
P.S. It turns out that the originally reported bug was in fact three bugs:
1) The reason for the initial freeze reported part way through startup was caused when gecko was not installed. The error/install message was hidden behind a splash screen that always displays on top.
2) The vast (and crippling) majority of the error messages were caused by an absence of the Tahoma font. If this is added to the font directory and the registry, the program will load...
3) ... leaving only one remaining error message (described above).
Of these, the first was not a bug. The second is an already reported bug*. The third is still open.
*Regarding the Tahoma problem: I'd like to reference the bug that this duplicates so that I can properly attach DVD Profiler as an affected program. However, although I can find reference to Tahoma in several bugs, I'm not sure which one is actual Tahoma bug. Can anyone shed any light?
