The error message

Running the Oracle JDK 6u26 installer on Wine results in the following error
message being displayed: "Installer : Wrapper.CrateFile  failed with error 206:
File name is too long".

The error message with +relay

And I just noticed the error message changes if I enable the relay debug
channel... it fails with "error 123: Invalid name"

Can't confirm. No such problem here.
 * wine-1.3.24-174-g4b4dd30
 * Debian Squeeze 32bit

Please specify wine version and if not 1.3.24, then please re-test.

Oops, sorry, there you go. Wine 1.3.23 on Fedora 15 x64.

About testing with the newest version... not really practical for me until it's
packaged on RPM, sorry :(

Still can't confirm for 32bit. I did the re-test with jdk-6u26-windows-i586.exe
and works OK. At the end installer says Installed successfully.

Hello folks,

same as comment #6 - can't reproduce it too with clean WINEPREFIX.
Assuming fixed, reopen if still present with recent Wine version.

$ du -sh jdk-6u26-windows-i586.exe 
77M    jdk-6u26-windows-i586.exe

$ sha1sum jdk-6u26-windows-i586.exe 
4745fa7b3f82053363ba2e29a2c111f1c2a737dc  jdk-6u26-windows-i586.exe

$ wine --version
wine-1.7.3-187-gec28040
