--- Comment #4 from peter peter_dunning@dsl.pipex.com 2009-02-11 12:23:39 --- I have just updated mesa, libgl and intel-dri to version 7.3, libgl to 2.4.4 and xf86-video-intel to 2.6.1. This has improved the framerate in the intro film and now allows me to see a preview of the world when setting its type (pangea etc). On the other hand the game now crashes when trying to show a portrait of a leader and still when the game tries to load. I have attached a new crash log.

--- Comment #5 from Elias K Gardner zorkerz@gmail.com 2009-05-04 15:24:52 --- I also have an intel x3100 with gma965 chipset. I have crashes that log me out of my system. They can happen at various points in running the game but virtually always before completely loading a game. Ive been lead to believe that this has something to do with the graphics acceleration with this chipset in linux. My latest crashes occur with or without UXA acceleration enabled in xorg.conf.

--- Comment #6 from peter peter_dunning@dsl.pipex.com 2009-05-16 15:37:55 --- With the newest drivers (libgl, mesa, intel-dri = 1.4.2, xf86-video-intel = 2.7.1, xorg-server = 1.6.1), I no longer have crashes except when changing the resolution. This can be resolved by setting the debug resolution in My\ Games/Sid\ Meier's\ Civilization\ 4/CivilizationIV.ini On the other hand the people in the portraits are now invisible or black and the game is unplayable as almost all the terrain is white. It seems there is a problem loading textures.

--- Comment #10 from klb@live.ca 2011-01-09 16:02:21 CST --- I also have this problem on my computer (Acer aspire 5315 with Intel x3100 and i965 chipset) . Running ubuntu 10.10 and wine 1.3.11. It seems to crash at a couple points in the game, sometimes it get further but it never actually runs. Usually it crashes while setting up map or just after. I also noticed that the leader portraits have specs of green all over them, and when starting up the intro videos (the 2k games and whatever else) don't show it just appears as a blue screen with some white squares near the bottom.
