Maximise does not work, it looks like it tries but rubber-bands back to it's
original position.  Although this might just be the border being removed,
drawn, then re-added and redrawn.

Console log

Ok, I'm on standard Ubuntu with Compiz.  I just disabled Compiz and maximise
now works.  Console output only shows fixmes from richedit.

If disabling Compiz fixes the issue, please file a bug with Compiz/Launchpad.
