Summary: Crash when running Oblivion installation program Product: Wine Version: 1.0-rc3 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: thezood@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=13743) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=13743) Terminal output
Wine crashes when I try to install Oblivion GOTY edition. Wine desktop shows up but no program windows. Desktop stays there until I close it. This has been an issue before, due to the Securom protection, but it is said this should work if I create a certain registry key and run in Vista mode but no dice. Have also tried several wine versions and workarounds (including fresh install and a clean .wine dir).

--- Comment #4 from MIchael gecko4k@operamail.com 2008-07-20 21:43:55 --- Same problem. I copied the GOTY contents to hard drive and replaced only the setup.exe with the setup.exe for the Shivering Isles version (from gamecopyworld) and the installation proceeded fine and the game runs fine so far. Hope this helps narrow down/confirm the problem and provide an interim workaround.

--- Comment #5 from Chris Kellner transphenomenal@hotmail.com 2008-10-08 15:33:02 --- I had the same problem but it seems to be fixed in wine 1.1.3. I didn't check 1.1.4 or 1.1.5.

Can you try in git? There was a similar bug fixed. If still broken there, file a new bug.
