quartz.dll is not sufficient... "winetricks directx9" does work, though.
The appdb indicates l3codecx.ax is also needed, and directx9 comes with
that, so maybe that's the missing bit.

Here is the minimum set of DLLs that need to be native on my gentoo
system for the initial music to work when the coin stops turning
in the intro screen:
 devenum dmsynth quartz
And of course msxml4, butthat's another bug.
