Summary: GTA San Andreas: Mouse skips with recent change to Wine Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: trivial Priority: P2 Component: directx-dinput AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: anders1@gmail.com
In GTA San Andreas, while looking around using the mouse it skips. I reverted the following change and it's fine again. I'm not sure if this is a duplicate bug, I looked around but didn't find anything related to this change so I figured it'd be a good idea to write about it here.

--- Comment #3 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2008-02-13 00:09:28 --- Describe what the hell you mean under "mouse skips"? What HW? What video? What FPS?

--- Comment #4 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2008-02-13 00:12:07 --- Don't add me to cc, the change is correct. It fixes the problem in the other game. Try native dinput.dll and dinput8.dll to check how they function.

When I move the mouse around, it "jumps back" to the old position. HW: GeForce 6600GT, I don't know about FPS. I'd guess it's around 20 or so.
Hope this helps. I'm going to try native dinput and see what happens, cheers

The mouse is still very jumpy (game is unplayable).

--- Comment #10 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2008-02-14 01:21:11 --- Looks like the patch wasn't exactly correct. It was fixing a known problem but had a side affect. I'm reverting the patch and trying a different fix this time. Hopefully it won't break anything this time.
Confirming.
