[Bug 2615] Myst crashes with latest CVS

I have tried to trace back the situation to get som clue as to what broke Myst.
as I said before there are several regressions that affected Myst. The first one
involved the display on the screen causing the collors to be all wrong.

the next on is intersting in that it causes wine to fail with a segmentation
fault.(at least with RedHat 9)
