Summary: Paint.NET 3.22 window rendering broken Product: Wine Version: CVS/GIT Platform: PC URL: http://www.getpaint.net/download.html OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: nodisgod@yahoo.com
Created an attachment (id=11814) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=11814) Debug output from running PaintDotNet.exe
Using AppDB instructions for installing the .NET Framework from (http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=3754) and latest Git, running the Paint.NET application results in a broken window that lacks menu or toolbar controls, and is unusable in general. Outputs and screenshot are attached.

running the Paint.NET application results in a broken window that lacks menu or >toolbar controls, and is unusable in general
Just for the info, as someone stated already in appdb, the menu's are usable using shortcut keys (like Alt-F to open a file). So the problem really is the menu's are invisible. So it is usable, but it's not much fun indeed.
BtW,i dunno why the keyword installer was added, it's a bug in the app really

--- Comment #4 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-01-19 15:14:48 --- Removing deprecated CVS/GIT version tag. Please retest in current git. If the bug is still present in today's wine, but was not present in some earlier version of wine, please update version field to earliest known version of wine that had the bug. Thanks!

--- Comment #5 from Luke gaming4jc2@yahoo.com 2010-01-06 14:55:09 --- Created an attachment (id=25573) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=25573) Log of Paint.NET 3.36 on Wine 1.1.35 suffering same issue.
I just installed Paint.NET 3.36 without any problems on my Ubuntu 9.10 x64 running wine 1.1.35 after using the svn of version of winetricks's dotnet20 install. Then searched the bug database finding this exact same bug.
Free download of 3.36: http://www.filehippo.com/download_paint.net/4572/
The window rendering is indeed borked. The tool windows are all crumpled together and hidden beneath the actual window, resulting in them all being hidden and fairly unusable and the toolbar is totally invisible. Attached it a log of the program running from terminal.

setting 'dotnet' keyword and earliest known version tag based on initial report date. Adjusting download to refer to old version.

--- Comment #8 from butraxz@gmail.com 2013-11-24 12:01:30 CST --- This ticket has not been updated for over 900 days. Development recommends to check the status on your bug every release or two and let to be known if the bug is still present. If not, mark it fixed. If you are no longer able to put effort to this ticket, you can abandon it.
Is this still an issue with 1.7.7 or higher ?

--- Comment #9 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net 2013-11-30 14:55:09 CST --- Hello folks,
revisiting. The bug is now blocked by bug 35023
With 'gdiplus' override the GUI looks pretty usable. Menu bars, toolbars, floating tool windows are located at right place, no visible distortion.
If bug 35023 gets fixed this one might be solved as well.

--- Comment #10 from nallekarhu_80@luukku.com --- I tested the other bug mentioned here that blocked this one and it's fixed for me and this one too. The toolbars are drawn correctly without setting any overrides, just dotnet20 was needed to get it running.

--- Comment #11 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
indeed the floating window/toolbar/menu layout looks fine now. Thanks for testing super_man.
Unfortunately no straight forward reverse-regression test here to figure out the exact fixup-commit since it depends on multiple cherry-picks (bug 35023) that don't apply cleanly on older versions.
