NetBeans 6.1 Installer hangs while initializing installation, all gets black and the process don't pass from 0%. I'm also install jdk6 update 5.
This is Ubuntu 8.04.

Confirming the problem on today's Git (wine-1.1.8-120-g706b29c). Judging from a backtrace I obtained from winedbg it seems to be a hang in GetMessageW:

I can confirm the described bahavior. The installer simply hangs at 0%.

You can run the Linux version of Netbeans without Wine, but if you are really looking to run the Windows version then get the "OS independent ZIP" installer and run "wine netbeans.exe" from the bin subdirectory.
This bug is also a duplicate of #10924, closing.
