Hello there

WINE 5.17 never ending loop on "Setting up the windows environment..." 
( Android-x86 OS running on PC)

while I did not have this problem with old version 5.0 on this machine

first I tryed to update the old version and after that
I did completly uninstalled the old version and then reinstaled the
new one but it did not help

If you're able to build wine, a regression test would be helpful:

if not, at least narrowing it down what wine release between 5.0 and 5.17 broke
it would be useful.

I did test several version of the app and the result is that
the WINE-5.5-x86 is the LATEST vesion that passes that process

I hope it can help you

Why not creating a tiny LOG file of latest startup progress of normal versions,
some were on SD card? (for example ./mnt/SDcard/WINE)

This issue doesn't appear to be specific to the x86 builds.  On ARM, I'm
running into the same issue, but the exact release where it appears a bit
obfuscated.  Release 5.9 is last release that properly launches on my system
(Galaxy Tab S7 Plus, running Android 10).  Releases 5.10-5.15 crash so its hard
to tell if they are actually completing the setup of the windows environment or
crashing during it.  Starting with release 5.16, however, I see the exact same
symptom where setting up the windows environment never completes.
