Bug #: 30876 Summary: Diablo 1 demo crashes Product: Wine Version: 1.2.3 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: maikwagner@yahoo.com Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 40457 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=40457 Diablo console output of CentOS 6.2
I am trying to get the shareware version of Diablo 1 to run. I read that it "needs the hacked "wa_ddraw" ddraw.dll to be useful" but there are no further updates of this ddraw.dll
I have attached my console output. OS is CentOS 6.2
Kernel is: 2.6.32-220.17.1.el6.i686

--- Comment #2 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com 2012-11-05 09:45:44 CST --- Is this still an issue in the latest development version of wine?

--- Comment #3 from maikwagner@yahoo.com 2013-04-29 09:02:16 CDT --- I tried again today with wine 1.5.29 on openSUSE 12.2 64-bit. The Blizzard-Intro shows up but all I get afterwards is a black screen. Console output is as follows:

That is because of Bug 2082 the game actually still works, you just kind of have to guess which menu item you're at - so if you normaly can create a character blindfolded the game is playable once you're past character creation.

--- Comment #7 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- The original crash is fixed, I can see it in wine 1.2.3. The black screen after intro is bug 2082.
