The log shows

The GUI pops up a modal dialog to fill out with your name, address, etc.
The modal dialog locks up every time halfway through filling out the form.
There are no futher log messages.  The app continues redrawing normally
if you move the modal dialog, but you can't finish or cancel the modal
dialog.

If you cancel out before getting to that dialog, you can use the app
a bit, but selecting File / Login brings up a similarly locked-up modal
dialog.

Confirm.
For me this happined not only with "open account" dialog.
Just start metatrader, wait couple minutes and get completely hanged
application.
No activity in logs between "working" and "hanged" state.

Confirm this problem too. App instantly freezes in few minutes.

I think the issue is located in the sound events. The application work if you
disable all events (tools menu -> options -> tab events -> deselect enable)

Looks like "freezing" fixed somewhere in fresh builds.
Metatrader5 build 687 works fine with Wine 1.5.11

I can also confirm it works in wine 1.5.12. Dan, can you retest?

Yep, the 3 aug build seems to work fine.  I don't think I have the old one
installed anywhere.  Probably fixed by some wine sound change?

I still have this problem.
Wine and Metatrader 5 freeze after half a minute.
I'm using OpenSuse 12.2 and Wine 1.5.17
