Summary: Abra Accademy full screen does not work Product: Wine Version: 1.1.1 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: mkstoyanov@hotmail.com
The hidden objects game does not work in full screen mode. Part of the bottom of the screen gets hidden (it is outside the monitor). The problem did not exist in wine 1.0 and the rc versions. Now the game can only be played in windowed mode which is vary bad for a hidden objects game.
wine 1.1.1, wide screen ACER X191W, NVidia GF 7300GT, Driver 169.12+2.6.24.13-19.45, Ubuntu i386 8.04
I suppose the problem would exist on many other similar products (such as other hidden object games from retro64).

--- Comment #1 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-07-24 17:21:37 --- Please run a regression test to figure out what broke the full screen feature:

Is the game (demo) downloadable?

--- Comment #2 from Miro Stoyanov mkstoyanov@hotmail.com 2008-07-25 10:29:56 --- Most retro64 games have downloadable demos (1h trials at http://www.retro64.com/ ). I am trying to run the test now (yesterday I got an IAK error).

--- Comment #3 from Miro Stoyanov mkstoyanov@hotmail.com 2008-07-25 17:01:51 --- I apologize if I have wasted anybody's time.
The bug turned out to be in the settings of the x-server. None of the git teststs returned a positive result (the bug persisted), then I changed the defauled settings to my Acer X191W, from Plug 'n' play to LSD 1400x900 and ration 16:9. That fixed the problem.
I will write an entry in AppDB setting the results that I got (about Abra academy and probably other retro64 games, since they use the same engine).
