It might work for you, but I haven't even had time to do the testing Vitaliy suggested. I highly doubt theres been time for anyone else to notice and confirm they've seen this bug as well.
The testing that I have done so far is to completely delete my .wine and steam directories, recompile/install the latest git and reinstall steam via the msi installer. It shows the same graphical glitches.
@ Vitalay - Is there an easy command to backlevel my git to a specific version? I've been clumsily working through bisects to do this in the past,
