Bug #: 31560 Summary: NetworkView forkbombs on startup Product: Wine Version: 1.5.11 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: dank@kegel.com Classification: Unclassified
Downloading and running http://www.networkview.com/setup.exe seems to go ok, but running the installed app doesn't:

Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded.
It seems to create a new process with itself ad infinitum, and eventually it starts hitting limits.

--- Comment #1 from Rafal Stanilewicz washuu@eastnews.com.pl 2012-10-24 15:56:03 CDT --- I cannot confirm this. Even after a few minutes of running the program actively, I still had one wineserver process and one winedevice process, without any visible glithes in running.
I have wine 1.5.15, Ubuntu 12.04 32bit, clean wineprefix, no winetricks.

--- Comment #3 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2012-10-24 20:08:49 CDT --- Works now - I had the old wineprefix, so the app definitely hasn't changed.
(Well, it puts up a gui and everything; the next issue is a usability one, doing a real scan generates the log line err:winediag:IcmpCreateFile Failed to use ICMP (network ping), this requires special permissions. and causes the "Thank you for trying!" dialog to come up again immediately.)
