When cars are added to a train, the train will never arrive at the destination station (without cars attached, the train does arrive). Although the train doesn't move anymore, the GUI still reports its speed at 4mph. The simulation keeps on going and you can play the game normally (except, as noted, no train will ever arrive).

On the first attempt, the sound died after 5 min (probably unrelated though). Changing sound to compatibility mode fixed this.
The game works perfectly now. Thanks!
