Would that "Permission denied" error have anything to do with that? Can you ensure that the GOG version is installed in C:/GOG Games/ ?

Curiously in before versions game runs without issues and /dev/sg0 dont exist in /dev
Very strange error

Sounds like a regression, in my opinion...

OK, now when you say "stuck at open" you mean while loading or after you try to start a new game?

No this refer when open game (game dont begins, dont show main menu), game dont charge but 1 cpu core goes to 100%, ACTOFWAR.EXE process remains active but when you try closer (after some time waiting game begins: around 10 minutes)
Process still remains, try closer using xfce4 taskmanager as sudo but dont work too, only way is shutdown machine

--- Comment #9 from fjfrackiewicz@gmail.com --- I just tested Act of War: Direct Action in a clean Windows XP prefix and the game is playable as far as I can tell.
After installing the GOG version, I was able to see the main menu, select a campaign, launch it, and play the game for a few minutes.
The game has other issues, for me at least, in Wine 2.7.

Usually you just need to open another session, alt+tab into open console or alt+f2 and type wineserver -k and it kills all wine process. It's reliable way.

--- Comment #13 from Ken Sharp imwellcushtymelike@gmail.com --- Why do you think a different graphics card should make any difference?
