Summary: Medieval 2 Total War: Crashes when application becomes fullscreen Product: Wine Version: 1.1.12 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: jrd9p8@mizzou.edu
In wine 1.12, medieval 2: Total war crashes to the desktop when the splash screen disappears and the game attempts to launch as a full-screen application. However, disabling "Allow the window manager to control the windows" allows the game to run. This bug was not present in 1.10, and appeared somewhere between 1.10 and 1.12.

--- Comment #1 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-01-03 13:24:08 --- Please run a regression test: http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting
Though, try git first, there were a few regressions in 1.1.12 that broke a lot of stuff.

--- Comment #2 from jrd9p8@mizzou.edu 2009-01-03 19:10:37 --- Problem appears to have been resolved on my machine for some unknown reason before I could begin regression testing. It resolved right after I ran sudo apt-get build-dep wine wine-dev , which makes no sense to me, as I wouldn't think that should change anything. This could potentially have been a problem with something specific to my computer as opposed to wine itself, though I'm not sure what, as I've been unable to reproduce the same problem that I was unable to prevent earlier. For now it seems best to close this.
