Summary: Command & Conquer 3: Missing Install Text Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: xvachon@gmail.com
When I try to install the game, the autorun says that there is no install text, and it cannot run setup afterwards. I have been told to install msttcorefonts and freefonts, this is already done and it has not solved the issue. I am not sure about how to create the appropriate log to reproduce the issue. Tell me if there is anything else you guys need to know.

--- Comment #1 from Adam Petaccia adam@tpetaccia.com 2008-07-07 13:41:11 --- Run the game from a console and attach the output:
cd /path/to/launcher/ wine launcher.exe > ~/Desktop/log.txt 2>&1
This will create a file on your desktop named "log.txt", and then attach it (do not paste) to this bug report.

Are you running a pre-compiled Wine version or did you build it yourself? Is the game disc ok?
I use the 1.1.0 version of wine which you can get from the ubuntu repository. I tried to install it both with this version and the script from Playonlinux which uses a custom build version of wine for the game. Both yield the same result. The game disc runs fine in Windows, therefore it should be the same in Linux.

--- Comment #6 from Xavier Vachon xvachon@gmail.com 2008-11-19 20:03:11 --- I redownloaded the game, and now it works in Wine. I think that the issue was not related to Wine, but more to the DVD the game was burnt on.
