Summary: wine crashes linux completly with quake2 Product: Wine Version: 20040309 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: wine-debug AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: spamhans@yahoo.de
Debian unstable/sid Linux 2.6.5-1-k7 precompiled KDE 3.2.2 ALSA 1.0.4rc2 with VIA 8266/A/7 on board sound AthlonXP 1800+ 256MB DDR RAM nvidia module 1.0.5336-6 with GeForce 2 GTS 64MB DDR XFree86 Version 4.3.0.1 (Debian 4.3.0-7 20040318043201) 1024x768@85Hz 81dpi
I changed to the quake2 dir and hit "wine quake2.exe" (only for testing wine, the linux quake2 works fine for me) Then I minimized wineq2 and browsed the web with Firefox. 10 Minutes or so later a a window poped up:
Exeption raised Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x5dd029ec at adress 0x404fde43.
The mouse stops... no ctrl+alt+f1 no ctrl+alt+backspace no ctrl+alt+del I had to push the reset button.
Next time I will start with "wine --debugmsg -- quake2.exe" to provide more informations.
btw I get
fixme:dsound:IDirectSoundImpl_SetCooperativeLevel level=DSSCL_EXCLUSIVE not fully supported err:wave:wodOpen Rate doesn't match (requested 22050 Hz, got 48000 Hz) err:wave:wodOpen Rate doesn't match (requested 96000 Hz, got 48000 Hz)
and the ingame sound plays much to fast. How to fix that in alsa? With OSS it works just fine.
