Summary: wine remove Product: Wine Version: 1.1.4 Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: ToddAndMargo@verizon.net
Hi All,
In the wine-1.1.4.tar.bz2's "Tools" directory we have a very nice script called "wineintall".
Would you please consider a corresponding tool called "wineremove". It would be very helpful in removing and reinstalling, switching back and forth from and to the RPM build, general house keeping, etc..
Many thanks, -T

That's all your remove.
Closing won't fix.

For those of us who are not that smart:
1) please create a script in tools to call this
2) please place a remark about removal in README
Many thanks, -T

How about something like this?

I've submitted it for inclusion, but whether or not it is accepted is yet to be seen. I don't think it's really needed, but at the same time won't hurt. Just trying to see if that's what you were looking for.

--- Comment #10 from Todd Chester ToddAndMargo@verizon.net 2008-09-09 11:12:53 --- Don't forget "make", which is routine to someone of your skill level, is confusing to beginners who need to be walked through by hand, especially those of us from the RPM/YUM world. We (I am presuming to speak for others who are unfamiliar with "make") go straight to the README for such hand holding.
Loved your wording. Clear, straight to the point.

I'm guessing you don't want a note about removal? If so, I'll close bug 15168 (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15168) as WONTFIX.
I think that can go in the FAQ, it's not important enough to go into the README.
I added a note to the FAQ.
