Imageready 3 (which comes with Photoshop 6, the last version whose trial is not time-locked) and 7 (which comes with Photoshop 7) both load ok, but they display the tool options window in the wrong place -- right on top of the File menu! You have to move the main app's window to get at the File menu or any of the other main menus.
(Also, Imageready 3 doesn't display the entire tool options window properly; the options section per se is blank. But that's a different bug.)

Can you reproduce this if you turn off/hide the top WM panel?

--- Comment #3 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2008-03-05 07:53:42 --- Yes, the problem is much less severe in virtual desktop mode or with the gnome bar dragged onto the right side of the screen instead of the top (though there is still an off-by-two-or-so-bug horizontally in one floating window; oddly in different direction between real and virtual desktop).
However, imageready 6 now hangs on startup, which I don't think it did before; I had to try it on imageready 7. And lots of icons are now drawn black, which I don't think was the case before. Regressions galore, I guess.
